Pre Civil War 1840 Wristbreaker Solingen Cavalry SwordKrause97 store. Pre civil war 1840 wristbreaker solignen cavalry sword.
Up for auction is a pre civli war 1840 cavalry sword sabre made by solingen also called a wristbreaker because of it's size and weight. The sword is heavier and the blade is thicker then the 1860 cavalry swords made yb ames and emerson & silver of trenton, nj. The blade is marked solingen on one sdie and s&k on the other.
The pommel has a rack #56 on the end. The sword is 43 1/4 inches long and the blade is 34 3/4 inches long. These swords were imporetd from germany during the civil war to be used by the north and south to meet the demand for weapons. Condition this sword is in great condition! The handle is tight and untouched with all teh leather and wire intact with a little wear to the leather. The brass is not bent at all and has a nice patina. The blade has no dings on the edges with no rust. The scabbard has a little ding on one side about 1 1/2 inches long, but very minor and has a nice chocolate patina overall. I posted many photos for you to inspect. If final bid amount exceeds $300 i would be willing to accept 2 payments til the end of the year 2008 with half payment due within 7 days with sword shipping after full payment is received. S/h in the continental us will be $15.00. Email for international shipping cost as some countries do nto allow sword to be shipped. Please see my other auctions for more militaria i would be happy to combine s/h cost for multiple purchases shipping together. Certain.
