Old Civil War Soldier Tintype Maine Trooper Wcav SwordMctiques store. Recently found here in maine in a lot of old paper btu not specifically id'ed. An old original tintype of a union cavalry soldier posed in front of a camp backdrop of tents adn us flag. Measures 3 x 4. Nice example of a maine trooper dressed for service.
Of note there is overall fine glaze crackling throughout which creates several lines through the image. Also there is a small amount of a white residue which i believe will clean. Guaranteed authentic and just as described.
Buyer apys actual s/i which will be our cost priority mail for most items. If a buyer denies insurance, any loss belongs to the buyer. Theer is never a handling charge. Maine residents must prvoide copy of their annual resale certificate or pay 5% sales tax. Will gladly ship internationally but customs documents will refelct purchase price. Please e-mail us if you have questions. Thanks for looking. On nov-19-08 at 064059 pst, seller added the following informationthis may be a longshot, but i thought i put it out there. In this same paper lot was this cabinet photo of a george bowden who ot me looks very similar to the soldier in the tintype. There is a george bowden listed as a private in the 8th me but not in the 1st me cav or 2nd me cav. There is a nathaniel bowden listed as a corporal in the 1st me cav. Perhaps george and nathaniel were brothers. As i said this is probably a longshot, but perhaps worth exploring. |
