After doing a great deal of business wtih one of our best consignors, he is offering up this civil war cavalry sword/sabre for your inspection and enjoyment. Our consignor says that his family has owned it for 4 generations btu beyond that he is unaware of the history. The ricasso is stamped by the maker, c. Roby cehlmsford mass. On the opposite side, ti is stamped us 1864 a. G. M. We've given plenty of pictures for you to admire and examine. The blade is in wonderful condition with no pitting or rust. It is extremely srtaight and unsharpened. It has what i would describe as nice beveled lines up and down. The leather handle is in great condition with the wire wrapping still intact. We've pictured the crack in the leather that runs the length fo the grip. The guard has a classic mustard patina and has a separation/crack in it (pictured).

The pommel cpa is marked m. The scabbard is in excellent condition with some sacttered uneven/rough spots.
